Commemorating PR Leader Andy Lane

It is with profound sadness that we share the news that Andy Lane, PRCA Equity Inclusion Advisory Board member passed away on Monday 19th January 2026.

Andy was a wonderfully strategic and creative PR leader, colleague and friend. He was also a true force for good, always pushing for both compassion and tangible progress on inclusion, particularly around issues related to neurodiversity and mental health.

In true form, he was open in sharing his own challenges and insights being diagnosed as neurodivergent later in life, and he inspired many across our industry with similar experiences through his authenticity and candour.

His passing has left an irreplaceable void on our Board and across our communications community which Andy impacted so positively across the years.

Anyone who knew Andy was fortunate to experience his kindness and unflinching support firsthand, and his legacy of empathy, advocacy and humour will continue to inspire us. As we mourn our tremendous loss, we also celebrate his life and lasting impact.

Our deepest condolences go out to Andy’s family, friends and industry colleagues during this time.

Some of our members’ memories with Andy include:

“His sheer volume of creativity - he always came to every conversation with 3 new ideas or ways of thinking differently - all well worth pursuing. It drove me to think bigger and bolder in the pursuit of the right thing to do always.”

“Andy was a ball of energy and ideas, always bringing something to every email exchange and meeting. His insights and perspectives challenged us and came from a place of personal experience and wanting to make the industry and life a better place for everybody.”

“Aside from our professional connection via the EIA board, we met up a couple of times where Andy helped support me professionally. He got nothing out of this, and I gained so much from his generosity. A few moments with him have had a huge impact on me personally and professionally - and the outpouring of grief suggests I wasn't alone. This is the kind of person he was behind his professional image: a wonderful man who will be sorely missed.”

“Whilst I only met Andy through the PRCA EIAB, his openness and impact were profound from the outset. Reading the many tributes shared across the industry, it’s clear he left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. Sending strength and light to all who knew him. May his qualities and character continue to inspire us.”

“Andy’s positivity and enthusiasm was extraordinary. His openness about being diagnosed as neurodivergent later in life helped me enormously, bettering my understanding and moving me to strive to become a better and more inclusive leader in our profession.”
