National Apprenticeship Week – ‘Hiring a PR apprentice is part of the talent solution'

The PRCA is renewing calls for employers to hire a PR apprentice and help talented individuals get the start they need as part of the UK-wide National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) campaign.

Running from 7th to 13th February, NAW aims to shine a light on the achievements of apprentices and employers across the country. The PRCA, in partnership with its new Training, Development and Apprenticeship Programme Partner Cision, will be sharing stories from past and present PR apprentices, employers and coaches on how the programme has positively impacted careers and why apprentices can help #BuildTheFuture.

There is no better time to hire a PR apprentice as employers compete to secure and retain the best talent in the UK market. The PRCA is offering 20% off the recruitment fee during NAW for those agency and in-house teams that decide to hire an apprentice. Register your interest.

The PR Apprenticeship programme offers aspiring practitioners from all backgrounds the opportunity to work full-time in PR while undertaking on-the-job training and assessments. Apprentices work for 18-month periods, with 93% progressing to secure permanent employment in public relations.

PRCA Head of Apprenticeships Stephanie Umebuani MPRCA said:

“The PR apprenticeship programme plays an important role in building an even more successful, competitive, and diverse workforce. Hiring a PR apprentice can be part of the talent solution to win the race to recruit and retain the best talent in the industry.

“We are extremely proud of our apprenticeship programme as the only provider of the PR and Communications Apprenticeship with a qualification, and so we’re thrilled to have the support of Cision as our official partner. I encourage our members to get involved in National Apprenticeship Week and shine a light on the incredible talent coming through.”

Katie Tod, Marketing Director, Cision UK said:

“In a rapidly changing PR and Comms world, training and development is indispensable. At Cision we put enormous value on training – for our team and our customers – so we’re very proud to champion the next generation of leaders, through PRCA’s exceptional Apprenticeship programme.”
