New Chairs appointed to lead PRCA Qualifications Board
The Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) is pleased to announce the appointment of two industry leaders, Eva Sogbanmu and Dr Craig J Selby, as the new co-chairs of the PRCA Qualifications Board. They will succeed Dick Fedorcio, the former chair of the board.
The PRCA Qualifications Board plays a pivotal role in shaping and advancing the association's qualifications programme, ensuring that it remains relevant and valuable to the global public relations and communications community. Comprised of prominent communications leaders from around the world, the board's responsibilities include strategy development and programme enhancement.
Outgoing PRCA Qualifications Board Chair, Dick Fedorcio, said:
“I am pleased to have been able to give something tangible back to the profession that became my lifelong career. The PRCA’s range of qualifications now provides a sound base for anyone starting or developing their career in public relations – developed by practitioners for practitioners - I just wish they had been there when I started back in the 1970s!
“I am also very grateful for all the support and assistance over the past ten years from the members of the PRCA’s Qualifications Board, Training and Development Team and especially my friend the late Francis Ingham.”
PRCA Qualifications Board Co-chair and Director of Orchan Consulting Asia Sdn Bhd, Dr Craig J Selby, said:
"It has been an incredibly rewarding journey to contribute to the PRCA Global Qualifications Board thus far. I am excited to continue this important work in strategizing, (re)designing and implementing industry-relevant qualifications to help propel the emerging generation of Public Relations professionals in a global setting. As we move towards growing digitisation of educational experiences, alongside the increasing acceptance of AI in our industry practices, navigating these opportunities to create a win-win scenario for industry, businesses, clients and learners will be essential. Such a synergy can be evolved, and I trust that our work with the Global Qualifications Board will continue to step us further in the right direction to empower our industry."
PRCA Qualifications Board Co-chair and JLL Head of Communications, Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East & Africa, Eva Sogbanmu, said:
“I am delighted to be co-chairing the PRCA Global Qualifications Board with Craig. I look forward to working to support the development of relevant and accessible qualifications for the PR industry. Continuous learning is more important than ever as we respond to the rapid technological change impacting our profession. The PRCA is well placed to guide members through, focusing on the fundamental skills but also ensuring we are fit for the future.”
