PRCA Africa NextGen Group drives meaningful impact for emerging PR talent

Since its launch in 2022, the PRCA Africa NextGen group has made a tangible impact across the continent, spearheading initiatives that empower graduates and young professionals. By offering invaluable learning resources, networking opportunities and peer-to-peer mentorship, the group has become a key force in shaping the future of the public relations industry in Africa.

The NextGen group has cultivated a thriving community for young professionals and students, hosting multiple Breakfast Networkingsessions, PR Student Bootcamps to bridge the gap between academia and industry, as well as masterclass webinars on topics such as career progression, AI in PR, mental health and wellness, professional etiquette, and creative and critical thinking for PR professionals.

Cherná Lutta, PR Operations Director at Dialogue Communications and Chair of the PRCA Africa NextGen Board, highlights the group's dedication: “Over the past three years, our board members have selflessly dedicated their time and energy to championing these initiatives. We are relentless in our pursuit to support and nurture young PR talent across the region. Our initiatives aim to inspire, educate and foster best practices for professional and personal growth.”

The group's commitment extends beyond those just entering the field. It equips both new and experienced practitioners with the tools needed for significant career progression. Jo Brophy, International Engagement Manager at PRCA, commends the group’s achievements: “NextGen Africa is one of our most dynamic youth groups worldwide.
