PRCA announces AGM to vote on governance changes

The PRCA announced that its Annual General Meeting (AGM) is planned to take place on 28 September 2023. At the AGM, members will be asked to vote to approve a new structure and governance for PRCA policy and standards-making and operational delivery, and a new set of membership criteria.

The final proposals will be circulated to PRCA members in early September, but will have three core principles at their heart:

  • Transparency. ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ The PRCA is transparent in its operations, reporting openly to its members
  • Clarity. ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ There is clarity of roles, responsibilities and processes within the ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ operation of the organisation
  • Accountability: ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ The PRCA, its executive management and its representative Boards and ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ Committees will be accountable to members, seeking to deliver value to all ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ sectors of the membership.

Nominations are opening today for members of an interim management board, which will replace the current board of directors should the vote on reforms be carried. PRCA members can put themselves or others forward to join the interim management board by emailing nominationscommittee@prca.org.uk by 23:59BST on Friday 18 August 2023.

PRCA has worked with RS Engage, taking on several of their suggestions to ensure that the process involves best practice in equality, diversity, and inclusion, with the use of redacting information from CVs and other measures to minimise unconscious bias and increase accessibility.
