PRCA calls for fair pay and equal access to internships
The PRCA welcomes the Sutton Trust’s research and supports urgent action to address inequities in internships. It is unacceptable that 61% of internships remain unpaid or underpaid, disproportionately disadvantaging working-class graduates and widening access gaps.
The PRCA believes that internships must offer meaningful learning opportunities, structured mentorship, and equal access, to build a more diverse and inclusive industry. As such, we call on all employers to commit to fair recruitment practices and for interns to be paid at least the Living Wage Foundation rates.
The PRCA urges the Government to prioritise action on unpaid internships and deliver stronger protections to ensure fairness for all.
