PRCA Response to Media Reports of Arrests in Wales

The PRCA is aware of media reports of the arrest of individuals working in public affairs in Wales on suspicion of spying for the Chinese Government. We of course take these matters very seriously and are closely monitoring developments.

As there is an ongoing police investigation, it would be inappropriate for us to comment further at this stage. Any investigation by the PRCA Standards Committee could only take place following the conclusion of any investigation by the police or a process in the courts.

The PRCA will consider any further action as appropriate once the investigative process has run its course.
