PRCA welcomes EIC report as a step towards greater public trust

The PRCA welcomed the Ethics and Integrity Commission (EIC)'s report, which seeks to close the gap on transparency by capturing all lobbying activity. For the full report and member briefing click here.

An activity-based register, the removal of the VAT requirement, the closure of the incidental-lobbying loophole and the inclusion of special advisers are significant and positive steps.

That said, reporting requirements must remain proportionate and we will continue to engage on behalf of members to ensure these are not too onerous.

Through our Code for Professional Lobbying, our members already voluntarily adhere to the highest standards and we look forward to working with the EIC and Government to ensure these standards are reflected as the recommendations are implemented.
