Progressing the Equity & Inclusion Agenda - EIAC announces its first in-person conference

The PRCA Equity & Inclusion Advisory Council (EIAC) is set to host its first ever in-person conference on Tuesday, 20th September, headlined by motivational speaker Toby Mildon.

The Change for Good: Progressing the Equity & Inclusion Agenda in a New Business Era conference will build on last year's successful launch, to delve deeper on issues that impact the industry's ability to be more inclusive and fairer.

Taking place in London [venue TBC], the conference will spotlight role models from diverse backgrounds, celebrate stories of advancing the DEI agenda, and showcase best practice. Few topics will be left off the table as delegates will hear topics such as: tracking progress and embedding accountability; representation in positions of leadership; gender, ethnicity and disability pay gap; future of work and much more.

Full agenda can be viewed here.

PRCA EIAC Chair Sudha Singh MPRCA said:

"We are delighted to announce the second iteration of the PRCA EIAC Change for Good conference, our first face to face event in a post pandemic world. The core idea is to create a platform for our industry to share best practice, innovation and advances on the equity and inclusion agenda. It is also to spotlight partners, practitioners and issues that continue to be barriers to building a fairer and more inclusive industry.

"In a post pandemic world as Communications practitioners across the world step up to be strategic advisors to Boards and the C-suite on topical and bigger societal issues, it is important for us to present ourselves authentically. To be able to speak and advise on how companies and brands can be inclusive, because we have done it/taken action for the industry and understand our role in building a fairer industry and society.

"And super excited that we have the awesome ‘Toby Mildon’ as our keynote speaker and an amazing lineup of speakers/panelists. A big thank you to our sponsors for coming on board and enabling us to pay our speakers and also keep the conference free for anyone who would like to attend.

"This year we will also be announcing the launch of an industry champions list including nomination criteria. As an industry it is important for us to showcase role models who don’t necessarily conform to the norm whether they are disabled, from the black and ethnic minority, women leaders, someone who has struggled with social mobility or is neurodiversity. We want to be able to say with pride and confidence that we are building an inclusive industry and diverse talent has an opportunity to thrive here. Block your calendar, join us at the event, and share your story."
