Tanya Joseph appointed PRCA Vice-President

The Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) has today announced the appointment of Tanya Joseph as Vice-President. She will serve in this role until the Association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in September, at which point she will succeed Charles Lewington as President.

Tanya Joseph is a highly respected communications professional with extensive senior-level experience across a wide range of sectors and organisations. She began her career as a journalist before moving into government, where she served as Press Secretary to a Cabinet Minister and later to Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Following her time in government, Tanya held several senior consultancy and in-house roles, beginning at Grayling and including work with organisations such as the BBC, Sport England, Nationwide Building Society and Hill+Knowlton Strategies (H+K). She has recently returned to Grayling in a senior advisory role alongside running her own consultancy.

Her experience spans all communications disciplines, including public and corporate affairs, consumer communications, employee engagement and issue and crisis management. Tanya is also widely recognised as the architect of the groundbreaking This Girl Can behaviour change campaign, which inspired 2.8 million women and girls to become active in its first year.

In addition to her executive career, Tanya holds several non-executive roles, including Chair of the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women and the London Handel Festival, and serves on the board of Transport for London.

PRCA Vice-President, Tanya Joseph, said:
“I am delighted to have been selected to become Vice-President. Never have good governance and high professional standards been more important to our profession, I look forward to working with Charles, Sarah and the team to ensure the PRCA remains relevant and credible now and in the future.”

PRCA President, Charles Lewington, said:

“Tanya will be a huge asset to the PRCA and its members. She is a passionate advocate of high professional standards and will be a great support to the leadership team.”

PRCA CEO, Sarah Waddington CBE, said:
“We are thrilled to welcome Tanya as Vice-President. Her breadth of experience and deep commitment to professional standards make her an outstanding choice. As the PRCA continues to champion ethical practice and excellence across the industry, Tanya’s leadership will be invaluable in shaping our future direction.”
