The Romans star duo win UK Young Lions Competition

The Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) is pleased to announce that Jack Moriarty and Scarlet Pughe from The Romans have won the UK Young Lions Competition 2024 for their ‘Bedroom Blue’ campaign. The duo will go on to represent the UK at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

Responding to a brief set by Barnardo’s, a UK childcare charity, Jack and Scarlet beat a field of 48 teams with their campaign ‘Bedroom Blue’. Each team had 24 hours to create a campaign to help reduce child poverty in the UK.

Jack Moriarty and Scarlet Pughe said:

“It’s been 1547 years, two months and 25 days since the Romans last ruled France…But we are back baby. Season Two starts this June”

Commenting on the winning pair, judge Amy Jones, Creative Director, Hope&Glory and Chair of PRCA Creative Group said:

“The standard this year for all entries was exceptionally high, but despite the fierce competition the winning team really did stand-out. They chose an overlooked issue and came up with a genuinely fresh idea to highlight it. Their tactics were bold but simple, achievable and coverage-worthy. What more could we ask? Outstanding.”
